What a Legal Document Assistant Can Do

As a registered LDA, we are authorized to provide self-help legal document services at your specific direction, including:

• Prepare legal documents in a manner you have specifically directed;
• Provide general published factual information that has been written or approved by an attorney, relating to legal procedures, rights, or obligations;
• Make published legal documents available to you;
• File and serve legal forms and documents at your specific direction.

What a Legal Document Assistant Cannot Do

By law, we cannot:

• Provide any kind of legal advice, opinion, or recommendation about your legal rights, remedies, defenses, options, or strategies;
• Select legal forms for you or tell you which documents you need;
• Represent you in court or before any government agency;
• Negotiate on your behalf or communicate with opposing parties on legal matters;
• Act as your attorney in any capacity.

All decisions regarding your legal matter, including which documents to prepare and what information to include, are made solely by you.

No Attorney-Client Relationship

Using our services does not create an attorney-client relationship. Because we are not attorneys, communications between you and Walk Thru Legacy, Inc. are not protected by the attorney-client privilege and may not be confidential in the same way communications with an attorney would be.

When You Should Consult an Attorney

If your matter is contested, involves litigation, presents complex legal questions, or if you are unsure of your legal rights, we strongly encourage you to consult a licensed California attorney. We are happy to tell you when we believe a matter is outside the scope of self-help document preparation, and we will decline work that we believe requires the judgment of an attorney.

Fees

We provide flat-rate, transparent pricing disclosed to you in a written agreement before any work begins. You will know the full cost of your documents up front, with no hidden fees.
